Most people use Claude like a search box. They type a question, get a polished but generic answer, and quietly decide AI is overhyped.
The problem usually isn't the model. It's that Claude starts every conversation knowing nothing about you, your clients, or how you like to work.
The fix isn't writing cleverer prompts. It's setup.
The 5-part Signal Setup framework
This is the framework we use to run Full Signal with Claude. Each part builds on the one before it.
1. Profile
Your profile tells Claude who you are, what you do, and how you want answers. It's the single change that makes every conversation start smarter. Write it once, test it, and improve it over time.
2. Projects
A Project is one home for each client, team, or workstream. Your files, notes, and instructions live there, so you stop re-explaining context every time you open a new chat.
3. Skills
Skills turn the tasks you repeat every week into reusable instructions. Think follow-up emails from call notes, proposal first drafts, or a weekly client update. You set up the task once and run it in seconds after that.
4. Connections
Connections link Claude to your email, calendar, and files. This is where Claude stops being a chat window and starts working with your real information.
5. Rhythm
Claude keeps changing, and so does your business. Rhythm means a short monthly review: what's working, what to retire, and one new workflow to add.
Where to start today
You don't need all five parts to see a difference. Three changes you can make today:
- Write a real profile. Include your role, your clients, and how you like answers written.
- Create one Project for your biggest client or workstream, and add the files Claude needs.
- Turn one weekly task into a Skill. Pick something you do at least once a week.
See it built live
On Thursday, October 15 at 10 AM PT, I'm hosting a free 60-minute session, How I Set Up Claude. I'll walk through the full framework and build two parts live on screen: a Profile and a Skill that turns messy call notes into a follow-up email. Everyone who attends gets the free Claude Setup Checklist.
Want the full build? The Signal Setup Lab starts Thursday, October 22. It's four live, hands-on sessions where you build all five parts in your own account.
